Information Collection and Use

We want to present information and tools on LabVelocity that are tailored to the needs of our Users. For this reason, LabVelocity asks its Users to register or to provide personal information when visiting our site, particularly when customizing information search agents, downloading software, entering a contest, or subscribing to a newsletter. If a User chooses not to register with LabVelocity, that User will not have access to various services or web site areas that require personal identification.

When we share demographic information with third parties, we will give them aggregate information (i.e., no information on specific individuals or groups of associated individuals).

IP Addresses
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique string of numbers that is assigned to a computer by an Internet Service Provider. Web servers automatically identify computers by their IP addresses. LabVelocity will use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Site. IP addresses also may be used to gather broad demographic information.

Cookies
A "cookie" is a small line of text that is stored within a Web browser for record-keeping purposes and to help us provide better service to our Users. We use cookies to save information like a User's password so the User does not need to re-enter it each time he/she visits our Site, and to deliver content specific to a User's interests. Users browsers can be configured to accept, reject, or provide you with notice when a cookie is sent.

Security measures
Personal information will be password-protected. Users should take appropriate measures to protect the secrecy of their password. If a User shares a computer with others, he/she should remember to sign out and close his/her browser window when finished with a LabVelocity session.

LabVelocity has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. These include a firewall to prevent unauthorized access to our systems and maintenance of registration information in a separate database. Although we will exercise reasonable care in providing secure transmission of information between your computer and our servers, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us over the Internet. We will protect the transmission of credit card information through industry standard encryption.

Privacy policy for data from children

LabVelocity does not collect data for individuals that identify themselves as children under the age of 13. The Site is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and accordingly, should not be used by such individuals.

If LabVelocity knowingly receives information from a child under the age of 13, we will respond to the inquiry, if appropriate, and will delete all personally identifiable information (including email address) concerning that child from our records. That information will not be used for any other purposes, nor will it be disclosed to any third party.
